Flute

Susan Kroeker (flute) is Elsa's flute instructor. She has taught students of all ages and levels in the State College area for over 40 years, and has held flute instructor positions at Penn State University, Augustana College (SD), and Westfield State University (MA). She currently performs with the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra and Nittany Valley Symphony, and is Music Director of the Masterworks Student Orchestra of Central PA. Susan recently founded Vienna Serenade, a professional ensemble which performs music of old Vienna in Central PA. She also previously performed as principal flutist for the South Dakota Symphony, Dakota Wind Quintet, New England Pops Orchestra, and Allegheny Winds. She is coordinator of the Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series. Susan has a MMUS degree in Flute Performance from the Hartt School of Music and a BMUS from Wheaton College Conservatory (IL). She has five grown children and seven grandchildren and lives in Bellefonte with her husband, Barry.
